Launching a book into the world is a privilege and a fright. Seeing something you’ve created in other people’s hands is one of the best feelings in the world. I don’t take it for granted that I get to write books, or that people will keep reading, especially in this attention economy. Readers like you have so much you could be focusing on at any given moment — to stop and read my book is a tremendous gift.
Putting yourself out there, in any field or endeavor, can be scary. Will people like it? Will they think it’s silly? What if — worst of all — no one even cares? The doubts will always be there, but as every writer knows, you have to work against them.
